Always fight back
March 15th, 2009 by webmasterWe recommend you always try to escape first, but if you can’t escape we recommend you always fight back.
Sometimes your attacker will promise not to hurt you if you do what he wants. Can you really trust the word of a person like this? Not only do your chances of survival go way up if you fight back, but you will recover from the psychological damage of an attack faster if you fight back.
Victims who do not fight back take longer to recover and are often haunted by the thought that they should have done more to stop it.
The attacker of course, is exclusively responsible for his own actions. Any feelings that the victim or society may have about it being the victims fault for not doing more, or doing something wrong, are misplaced feelings. The person who should have done something differently is the attacker. He should not have attacked someone. Never forget that.
