Class to benefit NorthPointe Christian School’s Annual Tuition Assistance Auction

We were contacted by NorthPointe Christian School to donate a class to be auctioned off at their Annual Tuition Assistance Auction on March 15th.

On June 5th, the lucky bidder was treated to a free women’s self defense class for 9 of the hardest hitting ladies that we have encountered in quite a while. Better not mess with them!

There were some camera phones going around, so we will post any more photos of the event as they get shared out to us. Thanks!

April 2014 wrap up

Thanks to everyone who showed up to our nice big April 2014 class! Lots of good questions being asked, and wow you ladies didn’t hold back at all! I may have forgot the donation cup but at least I remembered the other one, ha ha!

We would have loved to accept the after-class invitation but we had to be somewhere, rain check?

Anyone with pics or video please share it with us, we would love to put it up on our website! classes@womensselfdefense.info

Free Class – April 26th, 2014

Our next class will be Saturday, April 26th 2014. It will be at Garfield Park Community Gym in Grand Rapids MI, and runs from 6pm to 7pm. Practice makes perfect, so feel free to sign up even if you have taken the class before.

Details:

  • Please RSVP by commenting below if you plan to come. Walk-ins are also welcome.
  • April 26th 2014, 6pm to 7pm at Garfield Park Gym (map)
  • This date has so many RSVPs it may go into overtime till 7:30 or 8:00pm
  • Class is woman only, ages 13 and up
  • You will be physically doing moves
  • You will need to sign a liability waiver

Classes are about half safety tips and half physical. For the physical part you will be moving around and actually getting to try the moves out, dress accordingly. The moves are designed to be done no matter what you are in, so play it safe and wear gym shoes/clothes, or go for realistic practice if you are up for it and wear whatever you would wear out. The choice is yours. Feel free to bring a bottled water or anything else that would make you comfortable.

Classes are kept fun and empowering. They are free, so we have no reason to use scare-tactics to get you to buy anything.

January Class

Wonderful group this past weekend!

This past weekend we had our first free class since we had our baby. We consider it a huge success!

Not only did we feel good about our side of it, like not forgetting to mention anything, but the new venue was great and the students were amazing! Thanks to everyone for coming out, asking questions, and being generally enthusiastic. It was one of our best classes for sure, so much for being rusty!

We will probably start doing them quarterly for now till we are ready to do them more often, so the next one will be some time in April. We will post the exact date and time as soon as we have it.

Girl Scouts are back!

Our local Girl Scout Troop had the opportunity to invite a speaker recently, and their first choice was to invite us back. We are flattered, and glad you enjoyed our first visit enough to want more!

Having taken it once before, everyone was noticeably better the second time around (I’m still sore!). Great improvement everyone, and we look forward to the next time.

Private class for The Village at 48 West: Part Deaux

We were invited back by The Village at 48 West for another private class! This one was bigger than the last, but the participants were just as tough. It was nice to meet you all, and we want to extend a big “Thank you” to The Village at 48 West for having us back. The price of private classes goes directly into funding the free local public classes!

Free classes are temporarily closed

Just a reminder:
Our free classes are temporarily closed.

This is due to our trainers having a baby.

Classes will resume as soon as we are fully rested, recovered, and settled in with the new addition to our family.

They will probably be back sometime in 2013.

Thanks for your patience!

New Baby!

Midwives

Here is a picture from a class we held a while back for our midwife and her associates. I hope everyone enjoyed it!

Everyone who attended was a true warrior including Stephanie of S.A.S.S. who agreed to help teach while pregnant.

These ladies were already experts in making sure you can have a baby. Now after taking our class they are also experts in making sure you CAN’T. Don’t cross them! Ha ha ha.
